it keeps going into sleep mode randomly.. like sometimes in intervals of 10 minutes other times 10 seconds...
i know this isnt a tech forum.. but for fuck sake.
has this happened to any one before?
anyone know how to fix it?

Check your System Prefs > Energy Saver Panel.
Or it’s a fan issue. Check for Firmware upgrade.

go to apple support forums.. you'll get an accurate answer much quicker.

eh? what do you mean. search or post a question in the support forums, there's apple tech nerds sitting on there all day just waiting to help strangers.

Mine used to switch itself off every now and again. Are you sure just going to sleep and not turning off?
I had AppleCare and it turned out it needed a new power supply. Got done for free (obviously).
- Yes - that happened to me too! Once they replaced the power supply, it was all good... bought extended warranty and we're now happily playing together again.claret

Reset the PMU "Power Management Module" A few key combinations, restart, un-plug from the mains & hold down the start button for 5 seconds with no power cable - Check on the apple site for G5 PMU - it worked for me when I had the same problem.
