Should I finally take the leap and get an iPhone? I've been afraid to switch because I have a 11 year track record with T-Mobile and am afraid to lose my sway when dealing with them. Lame post I apologize, but thoughts?

If I were you, I'd seek out iPhone owners in your apartment building (if you live in a flat), your office (assuming you work away from home), etc. and get their statements on reception/service.
I did the same and personally decided that the switch wasn't worth the likely rage.
I, too, am a T-Mobile customer and ultimately I'm way too fond of their customer service to leave them for a better looking telephone.
- My wife does TMob customer support, she's fantastic and they're shit hot about making it all be excellent, no rubbish.mikotondria3

I have one, i like it.
I like the simple interface, i was also looking at other similar phones,
but they have this very techno, difficult and weird interfaces.
For besides the design of the phone is also very important;

Is the GPS feature on it all it's cracked up to be too? That's one of the larger appeals for me, seems rad when a buddy of mine used it to find our way home after we got stumble-drunk in a town we didn't know too well.

website testing is a good excuse to get one

If you have about 100 to spare a month for a cellphone...it's nice
I think it's a COLOSSAL waste of money
but it is kinda cool...sorta....ok it's full of retarded crap too
do it...no wait....yes....well...

It really depends on how much you use a phone, and what you use it for.
For people who don't speak on the phone all the time and don't want to pay a lot of money each month - it's not worth it (in my opinion). But the design and the apps are all quite amazing at times (most are not that useful, but fun), so you have to weigh what is more important to you.
- It's one of those things where, if you own it, you'll use it. If you don't, you don't necessarily need it.Jaline
- I can totally connect with you right now Jaline.. woaaah.. you are like buddahMeeklo
- I very rarely speak on the phone, so its actually worth it because its used so much more than a basic phonemodern

The iPhone is just awesome! Love it. I got mine back in July.
Few points, after using it for few months.
- GPS is great, I just moved from one state to the other and it's been so damn helpful. I used it to go anywhere, and it always spot on. Only down side, it doesn't have a live turn by turn update, but once you get used to it, it's awesome.
- I had to deal with ATT customer service in few occasions, and I have no complains, not one. I left T-Mobile for ATT, and, so far, i couldn't be any happier.
- Surfing is cool, and fast. No Flash support yet, but hopefully it will come soon.
- Battery life is probably my only complaint. If you use the GPS for a while or surf the net, it uses a lot of the charge. So buy a car charger, and bring you cable when you live the house, so you can charge it anytime.
- The syncing with MobileMe is awesome. Calendar, contacts, and mail works like a charm.
- Possibility to add other POP accounts or GMAIL/YAHOO/MSFT is cool. You can have multiple accounts on your iPhone and check them all at once.
- Last thing, if you care about this, you can't record video, or attach images to your text messages.
Overall, I love my iPhone, and I think it's the coolest thing ever.
