well it gets weird when one cat lies on your chest while the other one is asleep at your feet... (it's happening right now)

I love it. I hate co-workers.

Not to sure how your situation is, but often if I liked the company that was contracting me (cool people) then I tried to work on site as much as possible... Get to know people, make friends... It helps with the schedule and you can get a lot of networking done.

Hmm... thinking about all this. Any freelancers in Melbourne who would like to share office space in the future? I work much better with people around, and I'm sure other freelancers might as well.

you have not been at this long, it is clear. not a cut on you one bit, but I can genuinely tell you that learning for yourself 'how' you work and work best, is more important than what you work best on.
take some time, let it settle in, and everything will be alright. the waves are made for riding, not to be forced into a new form.

I work out of my apt. if you get lonely go to the strip clubs for lunch, they always have a buffet and some hunnies to chat with.

yeah freelancing induces a bit of cabin fever for sure. have an office now which will hopefully help me get a schedule down a bit more, but the social aspect (or lack thereof) still sucks. especially in friggin connecticut... oh well!

i killed too many co-workers and project managers in the past. i ran out of ideas of where to dump the corpses..
so then i figured.. this can't go on like this forever..
so i went freelance.

Need to schedule your recreation as much as anything else.
We tend to ignore normal schedules and work ourselves into a rut.
These days when I begin to feel the walls closing in, I get the f*ck out. There are always errands to run or some other tasks I've been putting off... always some random gallery or bookstore to visit for a few minutes.
I schedule my playtime and take it seriously.
When all else fails and I feel a whine coming on, I consider those people scarfing down their lunches and scurrying back to their cubicles in ugly windowless offices.
Then I shut the hell up.

I tend to consider creativity as fundamentally collaborative and I wouldn't know how I'd get on outside a collective situation. Without people to bounce ideas off and have a dialogue with I reckon 99% of what I did would be shit
