I have an 8 hour layover in Mexico City next week. I realize that's not much, but I think it's long enough to grab a taxi and go get some tacos al pastor or something. Any suggestions?

got to the anthropology museum, it's awesome. gargantuan olmec heads and quetzal feather headdresses and all sorts of amazing stuff. it's in the university district, as well, so there are lots of good little places to grab a bite to eat.

I live here... and there are a lot of cool places.
Well it really depends on the traffic lots of street construction going on right now.
But i highly recommend going to the condesa (lots of restaurants and bars) If you want "tacos al pastor" there are thousands of places , in the condesa there are a couple of good ones ( califas is the best ). And if you are around here go to the Reforma Corridor, near is the Modern art museum an , the Chapultepec castle and the zoo.
hope this helps!!

don't wear a low cut blouse and short skirt, else you're asking for trouble.

Forget the tacos, it's all about the Cebiche (pronounced Ceviche).

No Reservations just went to Mexico City. It will be on heavy repeat this week and has some amazing looking street food.

get on the first taxi cab you find and get all your stuff stolen, then go back to the plane and drink a free coke.

Mexico City has always fascinated me, Id like to plan a proper trip and spend a week there and see it all but I figure I should take advantage of this layover and see a little bit of it.
Is it dangerous?
