Need some advices!

hey, i´m working on some paragraphs and I have to justify and leave the last line to left. Thats good, but when I did it, word spaces went crazy (dont know how you guys call this problem) so my question is about how to "cut" the words in english lenguage to get a well balanced spaces between words. Hope this makes any sense.

What size is your type? What is your word spacing set at? How many characters do you have per line in your paragraph? Is it serif or sans-serif?

I was going to just quote Elements of Typographic Style, but I' too lazy to re-type it. So I figure I'll just link you to the Amazon page for it and tell you that there is a great chapter in the beginning of the book that describes how to approach your problem. (I think the chapter is 'the grand design'
