Out of idle curiosity I wandered over to the Chrysler/Dodge UK website today, just to see how their prices wereholding up under the current news reports. You can buy a £20k pre-used late 07 plater with less than 1000 miles on the clock which would have been dealer driven / demo only (ie first registered owner is Chrysler UK) for £7.5k.
A canny customer would have than down to an effective 6k and with a wad of hard currency in your trousers possibly even 5.5k given that shifting one seems like an impossible dream at the moment.
So if I was facing a 10% pay cut I would go out immediately and buy a Dodge Avenger.
This is entirely theoretical of course. Dodge Avengers are truly fucking terrible in every imaginable way.

last december our best client gave us a huge bonus, and then in february he gave us another sizable one. at the time he said, I'm giving this to you now because we won't be able to do it later... and he was right
