A Dutch group adds holes to an open source font to help it save printer ink.

Perhaps a picture might clarify things a little.
Apparently it's designed to look OK at 7-9pt.

spiekermann already designed an eco friendly font not long ago. one that left out certain vowels or something.

I'm guessing the savings on this could be hugely outdone by just not printing quite so much crap, but hey - every little counts, right?
