I have a client that's demanding i.e. 5.2 (mac) support, for the sole reason that they alone use it.
Should i tell them to forget it?

the last time it was released was 2003. no body in their right mind would have that on the list. if someone honestly thinks they need to include that in web design - unless it's an intranet and they specifcally have to use IE for mac in their office then they're dangerously clueless. this will very possibly relate to a bad workflow and result.
my 2 cents.

my client just upgraded to Netscape Navigator 4.1

Well, depending on the particulars of the design you *could* do it but make it cost prohibitive.

You could charge double to meet that spec, make a few quid. Or suggest buying a new OS and upgrading their browser which would be considerably cheaper. I'd also point out that they may be the only person in the world using that setup.
- That's a good point - cheaper to upgrade their rig.welded

Get with the times and a new computer along with that. Throw Firefox, Chrome, Opera on top of that.
I am very disastified with IE 6 and 7 and 8 is not looking promising.
