I've been asked to quote for:
Full Album Design
Album promo posters
Front End Web Graphics
Banner Ads
I usually charge 50-100 for a poster... the rest i have no idea. I want the gig and I want to be fair in the pricing for both artist and band... any suggestions?
PS I know working with bands most likely means taking a big cut, but i like the work it's usually very relaxing.Thanks

the last band i offered a website design for 1k rejected it.. so for that bit, go much lower...

Whatever you quote, they will say they have about $150. From experience, unless there is a record company involved, you should be prepared to do it for free and treat anything more as a bonus.

Bands have no money, i work for them in this way,
the less they me, the more creative freedom i have.
CD + 16pg booklet: 750 euro
Album Promo posters: 200 euro a piece
Webgraphics: 150 euro
Banners: wel i do those free for the bands i work for.But if you know my rate for 'normal clients' is 60 euros per hour,
this is peanuts...
But again, they have no money...they spent it already on recording & mastering...

If they turn up to the first meeting armed with shitty photo or piece of a friend’s “art” that must be included in the design – drop them like a hot potato. If they mention that the bass player’s boyfriend “does a bit of graphic design” – also, drop them like a hot potato.

get paid in druqs, groupies, guest lists and beer at shows. If they make it big you be set if not at least you'll have fun hanging out.

Just let the loser band find a myspace friend who is a designer do it for freee, they can be friends!
