So, if I drew some pictures of Mickey Mouse boning Goofy, I could get convicted of some kind of bestiality violation?
But if it was a drawing of an anonymous and generic mouse, boning an anonymous and generic dog, I couldn't be convicted? That's crazy. Utterly crazy.
Of course the idea that anything could happen to you, legally, for something you drew is amazing to me. Illegal drawings? Maybe of nuclear weapons blueprints or something. But drawings of cartoon characters? What third world pencil-dicked theocratic dictatorship was this?

a drawing of an anonymous animal boning another annoymous animal is still fictional animals boning so it would count. just the same as anoymous children, i don't see where it says anything about them being popular cartoon characters. i think there's some pretty illegal anime out there.

its similar in porn because you can't have make adults or anyone of age protraying children fucking. I think even rape is pretty dodgy...except in europe of coarse. It has nothing to do with the thought it has to do with the representation.

this guy also had actual child porn aswell so I have a feeling the judge worked whatever he could into the conviction

what if it was film of adult characters (played by adult actors), who think they are children, having sex?

What about the Simpsons animators who have done countless frames of Itchy mudering Scratchy? Is it one conviction per image, or waht?

Only in Australia. Probably only in the Northern Territory or Northern Queensland.

Seems he didn't draw them, merely downloaded them.
The NYTimes also mentions another case in the US:
In Iowa, a 38-year-old comic collector was charged with possessing child pornography after federal authorities seized his collection of manga comic books, a Japanese form that sometimes features graphic depictions of sex.

“A fictional cartoon character, even one which departs from recognizable human forms in some significant respects, may nevertheless be the depiction of a person” under the law.
OMG! that's crazy! Where do they draw the line? (no pun intended)

What about all the "violence" in The Simpsons - Itchy & Scratchy...
The Simpsons creators must be punished for this too.
Justice Michael Adams - You are pathetic...
