Focus RS looks crazy!!
I like the idea of a car looking unassuming rather than looking like a beast. So rep-mobile drivers laugh as they try to pass you, then you sink the foot and they get the shame of just being blown away by a wee twingo or whatever lol.

I was in the same position about a year ago. Wanted a sporty little number.
Went for the cooper S. probably because top gear voted it hot hatch of the year last year. Drove a load of them, and the mini feels the most solid. Has pretty much the same stats as a Golf GTi, slightly cheaper and quicker around the corners.
Saying that it's pricey and I cant fit my golf clubs in, but is fucking quick and in my opinion cool
the albarth is top gears hatch of the year this year.
If I was buying again I'd go for the new Focus RS.
looks nuts and is a proper hot hatch. 300 BHP

VW GTI/R32 or Scirocco.
These are the only hot hatches.

i guess i never thought of a hatch back vehicle as "hot" or "Sexy"

I dont want a hot hatch that is a V6 500bhp gas guzzler.
And I dont want a car any larger than a Fiesta or Golf. It's a small car for city use every other day and for fun trips, something with a bit of oomf to have fun with or great fun handling.
Its a Smart Roadster Coupe that ive got at the moment. Quite hard to beat for looks/fuell economy/fun handling

Lawlz at the notion of hatchbacks being cool. Only in Europe.

I still really really want an original two door Sierra XR4i in black. The one that had the same front end as the Cossie.
I almost had one earlier this year but the day I was going to get the train up to the north end of Scotland to get it I got a huge job come in and had to cancel the trip. By the time I was able to go up it was sold.

I've never been a huge fan of the old Peugot 205 gti's btu do know they are beasts.
About 10+ years ago i used to have a mint mrk2 silver XR2.
id kill to have that back again.
one of my mates travelled down to london to get an F reg one recently. absolutely showroom condition car that is 20+ years old. astounding! plus you can fix anything and everything on it yourself hehe. Basic twin-carb engine :)

The new fiestas got a really good review from clarkson on top gear at the weekend. thats what actually got me into looking at different hot hatches available at the moment.
One of my mates is in the process of beefing up his mini to 270bhp.
Looking like a beast.- S-Works are great little cars! But expensive for what they are. The Fiesta won't touch most hot hatches tho/jysta

For sheer fun/performance I would say the old Type R or 172 cup, for looks and performance any of the new Renault Sports - Megane, Clio etc... Interior is a bit shoddy tho!
