Wow ... so ... he had a kid with a girl, then 6 months after popping it out. She bangs another dude.
There are three ways I look at this:
01. Things didn't go as peachy as he may have thought during the pregnancy and afterward.
02. She got drunk for the first time in like a year after popping out a kid and ... well ... voila.
03. It may not be his kid in the first place given 1 & 2.- she clearly wasn't ready for a kid
and felt entitled to a bit of fun due to all her misery in carrying the beastscarabin_net

Plus you're not a bad friend.
My best friend had a kid in September, and I still haven't seen it yet.
September of last year.
He also asked me to be his best man at his wedding, and I told him no.
You have a long way to go my man, haha.

a bad friend would have been like...
"dude... she cheated on me..."
"really?!?" *starts to contemplate how to sleep with said chick too*

not to sound like the big douchette here, but that's why it's probably a bad idea to have a child w/a girlfriend. no stability...poor kid.

I would've gone for pints and offered to let him crash on my couch for a while so he doesn't have to be faced with the prospect of loneliness post-breakup. Let him ease back into being single. That's what I'd do at any rate if it was one of my good friends.
It's a shame, someone in my family is going through a similar situation.
