I'm getting really shitty gradients in CS4, runing from a solid blue made up in CMYK to white. Anybody know how to smooth them out a little so they don't become so banded?

there are several threads about this. if my memory serves me right, a gaussian blur and noise filter would do the trick.

Gaussian blur (blur amount dependant on banding / resolution) + noise (maybe 2–8%, you don't need much).pylon - 2–8%, you don't need much).pylon

create the gradient in a channel, add a little noise, make a selection from the channel, fill with colour.

Man. you'd figure adobe would have shit like this worked out by CS4. Seems they're finding new problems to throw our way.
