I was booked to do 7 days work by an agency starting today and they've cancelled, giving me about 9 hours notice. It's left me high and dry - I turned down work offered to me a couple of days ago because I thought I was fully booked. Anyone have any experience of this? Should I be entitled to any compensation? This is the 3rd time this has happened to me this year (different agencies/companies) and has cost me a total of £4000. Any advice much appreciatted.

when you make a deal, get it in writing with a cancellation clause that entitles you to some percentage of compensation if they cancel within x number of days

Aye. Guessed that is the case. I've got a P.O. from these guys, but I guess that means nothing in terms of me getting any compensation...

Could anyone direct me to an example/template cancellation clause?
