HDR is like Guidos. The more you see them, the more you hate them.
- indeed some are pretty cool but they look like those mall things you see sometimeschossy
- I think you mean the effect in alot of 'HDR' photos that comes with excessive tonemappingrounce
- Hahaha stewart!uncle_helv

@WLN - HDR pics for lighting environments?
- Sandder0
I find them so ugly..... they remind me of airbrushed Hahrley davidsons and mermaids. Am i the only one?

THere were some Ny storefronts that were on flickr that were really good, haven't found them since!

Ya, i think it's a trend now. I like old school unedited picture myself
- canuck0
Those pictures are missing some lens flare

There's a huge difference between a real HDR image and a photograph somebody threw a shitload of filters at. I don't think enough people understand this.
I don't think that Beetle is HDR.

worst thing to happen to photography in awhile

oh is it? i'm a newbie, How do you tell a true hdr and pseudo hdr?
- It's hard to tell when they're done correctly.monospaced

I hate HDR images so much it's scary.
- JG_LB0
- that just looks like tha plastic wrap filter in photoshop yo!. And unsharp mask or some shit.chossy
- but it's notJG_LB
- that's a shitty job. there's halos everywhere, an 19th century photographer would do a better job.zarkonite
- That's definitely not HDR. HDR requires a tripod and multiple photographs merged together.monospaced
- i think it is hdr. worst kind of, though.invisiblechamber
- ugliest photo ever. the subject and technicallybenfal99
- I have to agree, this looks terrible, (not the subject, but the over filtering process)Meeklo
- its just a bad high pass filter and overlaythumb_screws
- imnotadesigner0
- nojevad
- no they are nice photos.chossy
- oh how do you confirm it?********
- becuase I know what a fucking HDR photo looks like. google itjevad
- I would say desaturated, color corrected and blacks are a bit reexposed but its definitely not HDR.goygoygoy
- ok, just in case this becomes a bet: i say these are totally HDR.invisiblechamber
- you can't make an hdr image with moving objects (aka waves, poles, people, etc...)monospaced
- in case the moving area is covered by one exposure, it is possible...invisiblechamber
- ... where moving and static areas meet it's hard to shop, though. (see glow effect esp. in 1st picture)invisiblechamber
- you can actually - with a RAW. you make 3 bracketed images.forcetwelve
- Using RAW is not really High Dynamic Rangemonospaced
- nope ... just desaturated contrasttile
- i'm not really familiar with hdr, but these pics are definitly shopped together out of different exposures.invisiblechamber

That's evil man :)
- goygoygoy0
- kinda cool********
- thks syed, kinda hdr actually :), but only one exposure and lightroom enhancmentsgoygoygoy
- 1 exposure = NOT HDRmonospaced
- kinda cool
- goygoygoy0

- jaylarson0
- If you need a couple of extra stops, hdr can work for you. Subtlety is key.jaylarson
- yup. great photo.OnesandZeros
- thanksjaylarson
- Raniator0
- how could i miss that?********
- Unfortunately, only about 1/2 of those are actually HDR. It's impossible to create a real HDR image with a moving object.monospaced
- how could i miss that?
