Last night I heard Dana Arnett of VSA Partners speak at a silly AIGA event. Words cannot describe how encouraged I feel after hearing him talk and how positively he renewed my faith in graphic design as a practice & designers in general. if you need a healthy reminder that while a lot of art directors {one in particular who after a 30 minute interview told me I was completely worthless-- and who happened to be sitting in front of me last night..} are cocky pretentious fucks out to put you down down down, 'graphic design' is not to blame, nor is it to fear. An existential crisis is not in order.
Listening to a hugely successful, down to earth, harley riding dude who smokes cigars on saturdays and has none of the 'I am the best' mentality leaves me smiling.
plus his work is baller:
http://vsapartners.com/just thought I'd share in case anyone else has been recently shaken up by a dick head holy! holy! art director and needs some a positive reminder.

VSA is on my shortlist of desirable future employers. I love their work. It sure doesn't hurt that my current boss is on friendly terms with Dana...
