I'm looking to buy a color laser printer for my design studio. Looking for the best value/quality + well priced consumables. Any suggestions?

xerox phasers are the best imo.

How big and what type of output?
We've got an HP (powdered toner) that's fine for our needs. It complements our HP designjets well.
If there's just a few of you, you probably don't need some massive floor-standing unit.

It's a 2 person studio. Will grow to 4 within the coming year. We need it for client presentations, mock-ups. We need quality color/resolution, but at the same time don't want to be stuck feeding it expensive ink cartridges.

We're a bit bigger than you but use an HP2600n (laser) for general stuff (we got the extra paper tray for it so it houses both letter and legal paper) as well as an HP designjet 30n (ink-jet) for colour-critical stuff (it prints up to 13x19").
Between the two the upkeep isn't bad; one to two black toner cartridges and one set of colour cartridges for the laser and then a full set (give or take) for the ink-jet every nine to twelve months.- There's a xerox laser that's meant to be Pantone-calibrated or approved as well but was louder and slower than the HP we ended up getting.********
