I find this hard to believe that it's real.

yeah, probably a parody, but theyre whole sportswear line is a bit confusing.
- how is it confusing?doesnotexist
- obviously they are going for the AA/hipster market, but...then alot of their ads look very GAP-y, so it seems kind of muddled to mesteezy

They would never say just douche it. To me it comes across as a slam on those hipster folks. The hand and cup look fake also.
- your words look fakedoesnotexist

Never worked there, but considering the care large corps give to their slogans this is probably fakeroony.

ADBUSTERS.

adbusters is cool
- sikma0
So who are they making fun of?
Ironic self-righteous hipsters?
If so that's odd 'cause they're the only ones left reading their magazine.
- scottON0
2 or 3 issues ago, the cover said "Hipsters: the dead end of western civilization" - I think its brilliant for a magazine like this to show their audience what they think of hipsters. Adbusters is the only magazine to which hipsters might listen, except vice maybe.
Besides Sikma, I'm not a hipster, and I read their magazine. I am among many others too. Sorry.

scottON - Sorry mate Adbusters is up its own arse. It wants every issue to be The New Bible. Its good for teenagers but other than that...gjd
- I'm just happy that there's a conscious body of people who hate advertising, who can publish a decent mag.scottON

No need to be sorry and I'm not trying to offend.
I remember reading some of their very first issues and loved them. Ideas were new to see in print and it was very well written. Now when I pick it up it seems like the same highly pessimistic messages over and over again with little or no focus on positive solutions.
P.S.
We all know that Nike is a shit company that uses child labor. We all knew this YEARS ago. Move on.
- yeah, cause a giant corporate company with millions of dollars can't change its ways... ever.refunktion

why hasn't hipsterism died??? for the love of God!!!!!11one!! why?
these fruitcakes are worse than the flannel shirt, doc marten wearing scruftards that played 'even flow' on repeat back when cobain was still swearing that he didn't have a gun.

sikma is right. Adbusters is made by (and for) comfortable urbanites who feel guilty that their life is so cushy and fluffy whilst others struggle in poverty, and want to lash out at this guilt/berate themselves. In principle this works, but they wrap it up in this wannabe-rebellion shit that goes nowhere.
Over 10 years of Adbusters and what the fuck has changed? You could argue it proves there is a body of people out there consciously fighting to keep your eyes open (which is why it's good for adolescents) but as far as a genuine attack on these companies.....its just as much a pose as the stuff it attacks.

If you're in any doubt, just read some of the fucking responses to this article to see how far up their own rectum some of these wankers are...

how wearing girl's jeans ever became some sort of a fad is beyond my comprehension.
- airey0
it's a trend from the uk where having a wasting disease in your legs is fashionable.
- sikma0
gjd - has it bang on. Guilt is the last one subscribing to this mag.
I live about a kilometer from the Ad busters HQ in Van. Hipsters around here are reading the New Yorker and Nylon - even Vice is considered passé
