I am looking for a tutorial to format text in flash, especially link hover states.
I know that there is a way to do this with CSS and in AS3. My last experience with the CSS option was that flash didn't support CSS layout which didn't work with my design. As a result, I created a blank button with a line rollover state. There is a way to make text have links in the property panel. Is there a way to assign a hover state to that in CSS.

this is loading and applying a stylesheet:

then add a style for a:hover in the css

You can create the css within flash even in as2 also... with rollover states etc... and often it is better as you can basically create dynamic stylesheets

Ah,, that helped. I figured how to load the CSS. But now, how do I apply it?
mimeartist, since I just need to add a hover state I think your AS2 method would be perfect. You have an example of that?

you can create the css in as3 too,
var mystyle:StyleSheet = new StyleSheet();
mystyle.parseCSS = ("your css here");
yourTextField.styleSheet = mystyle;
yourTextField.htmlText = "<a>hello</a>";sorry, don't know as2
