Tuna is the pretty much the only fish that you have to watch how much you eat of. It's also cheaper than other, rarer fish, and some less-respectable establishments will try to pass it off as other, pricier fish. Eat at a reputable place, don't get too much tuna, and you'll live.

really good quality sushi/sashimi that melts in your mouth can't be beat. omakase is the way to go, though costs a fortune.

Japanese food pretty much destroys all other ethnic foods in it's wake. tons more going on then sushi and sashimi.

it's nothing compared to dolphin tartare

fish (especially eel) contains vitamin B17 which is a cancer killer/preventer. The eskimos and costal japanese people (you know, the ones that are living well into their 100's) pretty much base their diets on foods that are full of B17. I eat sushi like once a week.
