Moving seems like a chore. To get a place you need a job, but it's hard to get a job if you don't already have a place in the area. Am I right?

come to montreal and die under the snow and be eaten alive by a polar bear while watching strippers while eating chiken wings and drinking beer while watching a hockey game.
its fun.
- you've got that kick ass underground mall... I had yakisoba there once...SigDesign
- and great bands like the DearsSigDesign
- thanks :Dbenfal99
- Truly... my wife and I had a great time there... reminded me of Boston, cause it was like French colonial vs EnglishSigDesign

I say NYC... if you're tired of Seattle cause it rains all the time and has not much of a design scene, and you want to go to another big city... New York has less rain and a huge design scene.
San Fran seems wonderful but of course it's insanely expensive, but so is NYC...
Minneapolis sounds great, but their winters are rough... why not go for living overseas? If you can find a job, London is awesome, and Asia is rad... Tokyo, or Taipai or Hong Kong... but that's a completely different scene... also I agree Toronto is cool, but I like Montreal better... though, again, winter... it'll be much more intense than rain all the time...

If I were to move, it would be to Texas. Austin was very nice. That way I could keep my same service business and have access to thousands of immigrants and I'd make sh*tloads.

i have to quote a fellow QBN'r from a previous thread like this:
"Don't move to New Jersey!"

I'd consider:
NYC - Expensive but lots of work around and yeah - the bars are pretty awesome.
SF - Much more of a small town than you might link. Lots of points for creativity and tech.
LA - A lot cooler than you might think. Great weather, art and tech scene and reasonably cheap for a big city.
London - Fucking crazy expensive and the weather sucks, but the work out here is amazing and well...you know what the bars are like I'm sure.
Montreal - Really great scene, arty and creative but the winters are brutal and you really need good French.
Berlin - Amazing city, great bars and good indie design scene but not much in the way of good paying work (from what I've seen)
Expand those horizons, baby!
- Pfft..."winters are brutal"Jaline
- not true about french in Montreal.benfal99
- and winter are not brutal always... just sometimes. we're not on north pole for christ sake!benfal99

don't come to colorado. the weather sucks - it snows everyday of the year. the girls are ugly and fat. the sun never shines. you can't go 15 feet without stepping in horseshit or nearly getting run over by a stagecoach.
- Not to mention how easy it is to get stuck in the snow in a hotel for the winter surrounded by violent ghostsSigDesign

I take offense to the fat girls in colorado comment lol have you been to ohio??
I third CO - i loved Seattle when I lived there, CO has a lot of the same things minus the rain - TONS more sun

Sounds like Berlin would be a good place to freelance from remotely if you could manage it.
- If you had US or UK clients and you were working from Berlin, you would live like a king

If you can pull out remote freelancing, the list of options expands nicely.
Barcelona is a natural choice then.
