^ I don't agree with the second part of that at all.
Art, originally, was to record and share beauty. It has become completely bastardised just as humans themselves have. I would say 'art at it's best' is about recording and sharing a (beautiful) view point.
- Beautiful being nothing but a personal point of view, meaning ANYTHING + EVERYTHING can be labelled 'art'.set

Graphic Design = Something
Art = Everything
Graphic Design = ArtBut, Art does not = Graphic Design

no its not art. Art is something exists for no other purpose than for itself. Graphic Design is something that exists for a purpose other than itself.

I did my University Thesis, for want of a better word on this subject. I contacted Julian Opie and he actually got back to me and I argued that he was a graphic designer. He didnt like that and said he was an artist. So in short i came to the conculsion that it was a silyl question because its an art from but it is not 'fine art'.

someone said that that design that doesn't produce profit is art.

Warhol says:
“An artist is someone who produces things that people don't need to have but that he - for some reason - thinks it would be a good idea to give them.”
