redesign needed.
stick with your css'ing skills for time being, and design at the sidelines until you're better.
- that was the exact problem i had in the previous company i worked at.Jeremy_Dowe

I still find talking about yourself in 3rd person weird.
- Jeremy_Dowe0
hey,
have updated my website taking into consideration the comments above.
http://www.jeremydowe.com.au/new…
can it... or keep it ?
the old website is still up
(sorry ie7 users haven't checked it yet if it even works...)
- It's better than the originalwhendog
- new site is much better.iCanHasQBN

3rd person is lame. You're not famous and no one is writing about you...........

Definitely better than the original. Some links don't work though. I can't click back to folio from the Kanye West page? And I really don't want to see his stupid face.
- Jeremy_Dowe0
yeah i did find that link. my bad. goes to the right website but is the wrong text.
so yeah, i think it is agreed that i'll publish the new version.
hope i can get a job soon.
- i think i'll give it a rest. such a pain staking process designing a portfolio website. haven't done one in years.Jeremy_Dowe

the new site is heaps better.

thanks :) cheers.

its pretty techie but then that might be good. i think the images are in the smallest size they could go. i would prefer larger but they are okay.
- akrokdesign0
+ for not looking like all others.
- MrOneHundred0
nice. Site loads quickly, that’s always a plus. Work looks pretty solid.
- i'm glad you can see it. i had the hosting redirected twice with nameservers

I think it better than the first one definitely. Its always hard building your own site. You can use your original bio speel, just rewrite it from your view.
ie
"Jeremy began in the area of online interactive work, including websites and flash games in 1998, when he began his study at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) while studying a Bachelor of Arts (Communication Design). He has also completed a Post Graduate Certificate at The Queensland College of Art and a Graduate Certificate in IT & Libraries at QUT."
becomes
"I began in the area of online interactive work, including websites and flash games in 1998, when I began studying at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) while completing a Bachelor of Arts (Communication Design). I have also completed a Post Graduate Certificate at The Queensland College of Art and a Graduate Certificate in IT & Libraries at QUT."
etc.
- I would bring your centre column in to have the same margin on the right as it does on the left too.slappy
- Jeremy_Dowe0
yeah i was trying to go with something simple... possibly will think of a redesign when i have time.
- Jeremy_Dowe0
yes, i'd agree on the bio comment slappy... but my resume and coverletter covers all that. i guess when i first wrote that bio i had all that information jumbled in my head and i just spat it out.
biographies are possibly the hardest thing to write about.
my myspace page is better.
"Asimov began collecting and spinning records first, within the depths of Brisbane house parties and progressed on to deejay in various venues in Brisbane over the last two and a half years.
Playing a mixture of jazzy beats, hip hop, funk anthems and sprinkle of indie dance, Asimov brought to the herd, music to get their dance shoes itching to hit the floor.
Asimov first began making beats in high school using Rebirth and Fruityloops, since progressing to using an Akai MPC with a stack of records and a loose cut n paste attitude."
but yeah... am rather tired and have some other work to do as i am freelancing at the moment.
thanks to all for the comments.

i'm still pretty positive that people visited my website and wrote comments about it and gave me feedback. i've noticed that these people are not just from Australia but all over the world and i am a bit stoked to hear some words.
- neue75_bold0
good on ya mate!
- < my g/f's folks from melbourne sent me a bday card that says that, it seemed apt here as well..neue75_bold
- I have no idea what it means..neue75_bold

looks very good, but do you really need the splash-page? it's useless for a website, besides, you already have your logo about the same size..
- i think, i'm going to change that now. reupload my website. yeah i agree splash pages are a pain and i can see you're point that there's nothing much different about it being just a logo.Jeremy_Dowe
