hi
have put together my folio site in a bit of a rush to find another job.
the blog section was going to be a wordpress template, which i'm about to set-up.
like to know what qbn's think?

nice. Site loads quickly, that’s always a plus. Work looks pretty solid.
- i'm glad you can see it. i had the hosting redirected twice with nameservers

yeah i was trying to go with something simple... possibly will think of a redesign when i have time.

looks very good, but do you really need the splash-page? it's useless for a website, besides, you already have your logo about the same size..
- i think, i'm going to change that now. reupload my website. yeah i agree splash pages are a pain and i can see you're point that there's nothing much different about it being just a logo.Jeremy_Dowe

so who agrees i should get rid of the splash page and the irregular side shapes? say I!

Can the splash page - totally not needed.
In your work portfolio - I would suggest lightening the 'previous' and 'next' links and bringing them higher up in the page - they are totally lost on the bottom there.
Link the live sites to a new browser window.

totally agree on those points.
thanks to all!

i would show more of the work and less of the portfolio...
why are you only showing letterboxed shots of the work when you could easily find space more by losing some of the background design elements?
- Jeremy_Dowe0
agreed. i could change the height of the work previews or even instead of spiting the navigation up between the content just include it all roughly into one box.

you need to showcase the work instead of the website. For some reason I felt like I was on a roller coaster, right at that woah part before you wanna throw up. Simplify and showcase work. Did someone else say this? In that case, what he said.
- Jeremy_Dowe0
ok. yeah get the point.
- heavyt0
i would ask what the point of teh clock is on the top right?
A. i dont know how to find out the time, and i am checking your site for that information.
B. you found a script that can make the time come up and you want everyone to be impressed by that.
not trying to be a dick, but sometimes people need a stiff shaking to regain their senses.

yeah, eliminate the unnecessary. stay simple. surprise with class. dazzle us with color, grid, don't go the route of adding for the sake of adding.

Finally a portfolio that isn't in blog format!
Nice work.
- Jeremy_Dowe0
awwe thanks guys.
i feel like people have take notice both positive and positive constructive criticism.
i will post again once i've made changes and designed to the grid etc.

redesign needed.
stick with your css'ing skills for time being, and design at the sidelines until you're better.
- that was the exact problem i had in the previous company i worked at.Jeremy_Dowe

I still find talking about yourself in 3rd person weird.
- Jeremy_Dowe0
hey,
have updated my website taking into consideration the comments above.

can it... or keep it ?
the old website is still up
(sorry ie7 users haven't checked it yet if it even works...)
- It's better than the originalwhendog
- new site is much better.iCanHasQBN

3rd person is lame. You're not famous and no one is writing about you...........
- JerseyRaindog0
Definitely better than the original. Some links don't work though. I can't click back to folio from the Kanye West page? And I really don't want to see his stupid face.
