/gets to work. ;)

I took all your comments and feed back and finalized the site. A lot different but I think more effective and easier to nav. Also if you are on IE, you are screwed. I need to rewrite the CSS for IE6 & IE7. If you are on a real browser ... FF, Safari, Opera, Etc. Works fine.
If you guys see anything or have troubles would love to know. Thanks you guys & gals for all your help. ;)

my one comment is that i think you can find a better wooden background to use (one with a much less obvious seam).
because of the mirrored seam on the background, the visual effect the background has when you scroll down the page almost makes me nauseous.

Herm. Food for thought and thank you. I am going to complete the whole site. I think I got a great idea. Just need to execute it. I think size was an overall huge issue; I am going to stick to around 1000 pixel wide and 700 height.
You guys all helped me a lot, thank you. Means a lot. I could have bought some generic template and hacked the hell out of it. I really wanted to create something from scratch. I have not designed a website in a couple years, so I am way out of touch. This is great refocus.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

- HelloMatt0
use a lighter wood background

Ahh, no wood grain, I liked it black or if you must a dark gray.

Looks like a blog template, nice work though...

design by committee?
I like the look of the first one but didn't get to see it.
The current one is heavy.

looking good Dibec.
links not working though

my two cents on your latest design would be that I am not digging the background. The wood grain texture is to large and draws attention away from your work.
A finer texture and a cooler color for the background would still achieve the results you are going for, but not distract the end user.

dibec, the site looks really empty and doesn't work for me at all. Why did you remove the header? Why do you want to have the preview images so large? Might be an idea to have them smaller and maybe have 2 next to each other?

I almost did not see the menu/nav. I would just download a free wordpress blog theme.
- I resist to transform my site into a generic template blog.dibec

So after last's night drunk designing ... and creating something that would make a mother cry. I decided to go really minimal. The big change is black. I found this works really well with my work and sucks you right into a given image. Still demo mode ... would like hate/love for structure, layout, and overall size. I am also updating the lightbox, and reducing image size, so those are still existent issues.
Thank you.

I think what you have works OK but I feel like a better solution would be one that just focuses on the work with a really minimal interface. Even something like moamoa's site where you are just clicking through the images would be fine I think.

i miss the minimalism of yr last page. much stronger grid. honor your great content. the empty space above header loses me too. anyway. good luck.
