sublocked it must feel great being part of that enlightened 1%...I won't hate on anyone tonight but let us Dems enjoy our victory.
- yes, it does feel great.sublocked

- Would you have been happier if McCain/ Palin won?ukit
- personal joy of being "enlightened" in this case is stupid and petty. i feel like everyone but me is deaf.sublocked
- either way shit went i wasn't going to be happy tonight. the thing i fear now is Dem control of entire gov.sublocked
- hoping/praying dems don't get the magic 60 in the senate.sublocked
- You’ve had 8 years of the wrong direction, IMHO.MrOneHundred

They might still be in the toilet in 6 months, yeah... they've been in one for 8 years, it might take the new guy a little while to get them out, but whatever the outcome, it will be better than the alternative.

The only thing to cheer about IMO is that this outcome avoided putting a horribly incompetent VP candidate into the Oval Office eventually. Obama seems like one of the few decent politicians, but pulling out of Iraq before it´s restored to a half-decent state (which will take a decade at least) is a huge huge mistake which will cost the world. The US should finish the job it has started, for the sake of the Iraquis, and their own. Just one issue that has no real solution, no good outcome, regardless of his decisions.
I don´t get the cheering and the hollering, people seem to think this is a pop contest. The whole legislative system of the US is so epicly screwed up, regardless of party affiliation. Mr Barack will have to rely on this very system to get something done, he´s in an impossible position against the lobbies and the conservatists, even with a democratic senate.
This man has an impossible job, even if he would do perfect, and he will screw up that´s only natural, it would only change so little against the transformations put into effect by Reagan, Clinton, Bush. I´m glad he won, but I don´t get the enthusiasm at all. :|
- Well, it's something people have been waiting for. That's where the excitement + nervousness comes in.Jaline
- I would never trust any politician as much as some people trust Obama, but he's the best candidate for the job.Jaline
- the hollering is because we're excited to see a president who is decent and could possibly make a difference, if small.monkeyshine

Interesting to see how it all pans out. This might no longer be the "Rich Peoples Republic of the United States."

Can those of you who are skeptical of Obama at least be happy for the historical nature of this election?
- it's just an attempt to sour the mood. a very attention starved stance._salisae_
- @salisae buy a fucking clue. you've been brainwashed to believe there are only 2 choices for the future of america.sublocked
- don't pay attention to obama .. pay attention to MEEEEE and my support for an incredibly long shot candidate._salisae_
- lol. yeah just because i don't agree with the crowd and i speak up i'm attention starved? HAHAHAHsublocked
- that is the way it comes across. especially when you can't even appreciate his win over the other horrible (viable) option._salisae_
- you're a clown.sublocked
- if you want to think that, by all means, go right ahead. i really don't care. i couldn't be happier!_salisae_
- humper-jones0
ukit. why would racists be happy about that?
- sublocked0
@ukit the historical nature of this election is the only thing i'm happy about.
it is a great move for america in the right direction - but anyone who believes racism is dead because of this is sorely wrong as well.
sorry, i'm the qbn raincloud this evening.

I am very impressed by the mood that people are in...especially here in Chicago. I haven't seen this much happiness here...EVER.
