I have a vector logo to animate in 3D. Got the paths into C4D, and extruded nurbs, and all is well.
But, when I apply textures to it, using a bitmap image as texture (even if I change the nurbs to editable polygon object), the texture is only applied to the extruded sides of the logo, not the "caps" or front and back.
What's going on? thanks

you prob. have a selection tag on the face of the spline. when you extrude and break it apart and re-connect it adds selection tags, they are little red triangles. remove those and you should beable to texture the hole object. or just select the material and take the selection out of the selection tag fillin.

You need to flat texture map it... it will default to UV mapping the texture, which will only texture the extruded planes of a nurb. After applying the texture to your object, click once on the texture to the right of the object, and change the drop down from UVW mapping to Flat, and then change the length and offset settings to map across your geometry.

change it from uvw to flat? i'm still a noob when it comes to c4d, but i think that should give you what you want. there's an option to apply the texture to the front and back once you set it to flat.

Follow up question—
I'm seeing what i want to see in my preview window, but a test render gives me a naked object, with no texture. Am i missing another setting change?

nevermind, made a careless mistake
thanks, again!!
