PCs are so cheap, and the windows license is included in the price, so unless you need a power house PC, by one for $400-500. You only spend a couple hundred more then buying Windows alone.

Ain't tried Vista but XP runs fine on my Macbook Pro through Boot Camp. Currently using to play Far Cry 2 mainly.

if you need to run that filth, then fusion is the best way to go.

I run XP on my MBP and it is very good. Occassional problem with wifi and audio stuttering but other than that it is great.

I am currently running VMWare Fusion on my Imac with WIndows Xp and everything works like a charm. You will need a windows install disc after installing VMWare.
