- flickr isn't for selling yourself.Jnr_Madison
- so then why should you use flickrfolio? Why not just make you're own damned portfolio...d_rek
- I agree.Jnr_Madison

Remember when people would design their own website

Did flickr approve the use of their api for this?
- they don't need to, there is a lot of API apps using flickr everywhere, and flickr supports their developmentMeeklo
- Ok, cool, was just wondering if this was ok to do. I hope so 'cause I want to do something similar.Jnr_Madison
- all APIs , commercial or not , need to be approved. Non-commercial ones happen straight away thomaximillion_

TO THIS ....
wow folks, look like the future is HERE already!
the design of that is pants!
the lower level is a bit better. If someone is creative then they are SURELY going to get their ass into gear and create something that looks a little better than whats here.
They should launch it opensource so that people can do their own stylesheets. n maybe sell them

I'm just wondering as Flickr states in it's TOS that you can't use your account for commercial purposes, ie selling yourself.
- *its
But hey, what the fuck do I know.Jnr_Madison - No I agree.d_rek
- I don't think a portfolio counts as commercial purposesMeeklo
- *its
- d_rek0
I've used flickr as a temporary spot for showing work - it wasn't for commercial purposes though, just something temporary to show a prospective employer.
- d_rek0
OK, it seems like there is a consensus growing here:

The thing is, if you want to fuck about with style sheets etc you're as well building your own site.
- Renegade0
Lloyd can sure use this.
- mistermik0
nowt wrong with this. millions of folk use flickr who dont / couldnt give a shit about web design.
Better than seeing that fucking blue garish flikr branding everywhere
- Meeklo0
I think its nice.
It's free.
Looks promising for version1, with lots of potential to advance.
Beats having the flickr logo all over the place.
Nobody is putting a gun to your head to use it.I agree with mister, lots of really talented people on flickr that may not care, or know how to do any webdesign.

oh the drama...
- janne760
i really don't see what is bad about it. if you don't like it, use something else.
- janne760

I think this is a pretty smart idea actually. I don't plan to use it, but I could see why people would.
