With all the talk of toys and clients I know we all have at least an extra $25 to lend to a low income entrepreneur in a developing or sometimes not even yet developing country. Please consider signing up and making a difference.
Here's the pitch:
Hi!I want to recruit you to my lending team, QBN Members, on Kiva, a non-profit website that allows you to lend as little as $25 to a specific low-income entrepreneur across the globe. You choose who to lend to - whether a baker in Afghanistan, a goat herder in Uganda, a farmer in Peru, a restaurateur in Cambodia, or a tailor in Iraq - and as they repay the loan, you get your money back.
If you join my lending team, we can work together to alleviate poverty. Once you're a part of the team, you can choose to have a future loan on Kiva "count" towards our team's impact. The loan is still yours, and repayments still come to you - but you can also choose to have the loan show up in our team's collective portfolio, so our team's overall impact will grow!

How about some of your guys donate locally as well? There are a lot of entrepreneurs in your own country that could change the world if only they had some funding.

^Last year, not including kiva micro-loans, I donated 2% of my gross salary to domestic causes. This year I'm looking to make it 4%.

You can actually make money doing micro loan. Helping out and make money at the same time.
Default on these loans are very low and percentage in ROI is very high.

my wife and i donate to kiva, we even forgave the loans, but they've been insistent on paying it back in full.

are they letting americans get loans on that site now? i read a while ago that they were thinking about it but not sure what they decided.

i guess american entrepreneurs are on the site too now. kind of strange to see loans mostly of $100 - $500 and then there's a guy looking for $10,000

If I'm going to loan to US entrepreneurs, I want interest.
