lil snitch doesn't need to be launched at startup
- yes it does.
but you can probably set it up from the LS preferences tabMeeklo - ah no it doesn't, never launched it once in my life, not even old snitch via system prefshorton
- you either turn it on or off, if its left on it'll launch itself at startuphorton
- it has to be running in the backgorund or it wont work man. that's the whole purpose of LSMeeklo
- yeah no shit but show me where the startup pref is... ? that's right; there is none. its either ON or OFF.horton
- eaaaasy man...
so it is launched at start up then, look at the start up menu under user prefs.Meeklo
- yes it does.

1)do macs take both true type and open type?
2)Why do you need a wireless connection to use Time Machine?
3)My mbp crashed last night and I had to reinstall OSX. If it happens again will those queers at the Apple store fix it? (I have Apple Care)
- horton0
1/ yes
2/ no you don't need wifi, any FW or USB external drive will do
3/ crash should not require an OS reinstall. either it's broken or you suck at this Mac thing.
- rafalski0
1. yes, but read up on this, there's more to it
2. what horton says (ethernet too?)
3. that's just bad karma..
..and early adopter curse.
- kona0
font book is NOT a font manager. do not use it as so. we recently made the switch to linotype and we've noticed our computers run much faster with far fewer crashes and glitches. maybe that's also because we have far less time to search our favorite porn now. :(
- Llyod0
4)how do I turn the camera on?
- now you're just being silly...kona
- Photobooth, iChat, and iMovie uses the camera.Complexfruit

Lloyd, i'd be interested to know what you think about macs as a new user. I'm thinking about switching, but I'm worried about losing too much time to get used to a new environment
-I would also be intersted to know if 3ds max runs well with bootcamp, if any nters use it with a mac?-
