What's the point of dog-ear?

i tried, but its not very usefull imo...you can't have 2 in the same thread, so, besides the nice visual of the rollover image, its for nothing (imo)

I have the "pic of the day" thread dog eared - the is some disturbing stuff in there that I care not to see again.
Also "show your recent work" and many more threads with more than 3 pages... use it all the time

I can't believe this many people don't know / don't care. It makes those 20 - 200 page threads much easier to keep track of and makes them much faster to navigate. Fools.

It purpose is best illustrated in larger threads such as "blog".
Where your done reading dog ear and next time you go back to that thread to don't have to find the last response you read to continue...Quite usefull in this case.

Dog-earing is actually considered rude where I come from, because marking one page physically is the same as hindering the whole book as an object.

I often ask myself, what's the point of posting anything? what's the point of replying to posts? much less dog-earing posts.
