@johndiggity: I actually did that recently, and was told that it was really thoughtful. I was actually just trying to save myself money, but the potential employer was a tree-hugger, so it worked out well.

I check out a bunch of blurb samples at SXSW last year and they're legit. The printing looks as any offset photography book I've seen and the paper quality, binding, and feel of the books I looked at were top notch.
