Seriously? How much did your mortgage payment shoot up when it adjusted?
- nicnichols0
Did you have a variable rate mortgage?
- mikotondria30
meh, its not an ARM, just had a run of bad luck.
- designbot0
Are you just in some debt, or did your mortgage payment go up to an amount you simply won't be able to afford?
- It didnt go up, just got a couple of months behind. Owner financed, so heftily weighted reposession clauses.mikotondria3

what does a foreclosure do to your credit? can you get a house again ever?
- nicnichols0
sorry to hear that man.. this economy is really a shit pile..
- turk_1820
:( sorry...
... my brother lost a couple of houses already this year...
... tough times - although he did try to flip them and did so in an irresponsible fashion... losing those homes has effected a number of families (tenants) etc...
... sucks what's been going down this past year - hope things work out soon...

what's foreclosure? is it like repossession?
- gramme0
Maybe things will look up, what with the sudden rise in the market?

my sister-in-law "forgot" to pay a few months of her mortgage and while she was out visiting us a Sheriff showed up at her door and gave her husband the bank foreclosure papers. He was pissed since he had no idea but they were able to dip into some 401k's and saving and I think they it all worked out.
Do you have any nest eggs your sitting on?
- designbot0
sounds like if you could come up with some money to pay off the little bit you are behind you could be fine. Do you have family or anyone close that could borrow you money until it starts flowing in from freelance work? How about anything you could sell on craigslist or ebay to get some quick cash? Even a garage sale might work?
Just some ideas. Don't give up till you have no choice.
- absolutely, never giving up. All of the above before surrendah ! :)mikotondria3
- good man :)designbot
- I'm sorry but it's going to take more than a garage sale. I made 88 bucks at my last sale and I sold some cool stuff.fooler2
- how about getting roomate? A second job? Freelance? begging a rich family member?fooler2
- I realize that...garage sale was only one of the ideas fooler :)designbot
- I seriously sold an Xbox with 20 games, 4 controllers, 36 Sony TV Armoire, un-worn nike shoes, stereo equipment, bar stools, CD's, a tent a microwave....and still only made 88 bucksfooler2
- Done it, done it, done it.mikotondria3
- stools, a tent, camping equipment...and still only made 88 bucksfooler2

Last weekend when I went on an early sunday morning walkabout with a good friend. We got back to his apartment building - my wife and I used to live there as well. One of the door men there is one of the most consistently sincerely upbeat guys I have ever met. Talking to him over the years I know he's dealt with quite a bit of financial and personal problems, but he is always positive....so this sunday morning my friend and I asked him, "Jimmy, how do you do it?"
And he said "You know, God provides. You just have to trust in that. And besides, in my country we have a saying - 'You can only fall as low as the floor.' [stamps his foot on the floor] You can't fall lower than that, ever. You can't fall through the floor, right? And you can always get up from the floor. Especially because God provides."
It seemed pretty cool...just thought I'd pass it along...
