Buffet got super returns, not something the average investor can get - big difference. If I had his deal I'd dump a ton into GS and GE too, but as is both companies look iffy for a while.
Lots looking really cheap, but there is also no bottom to the world economy in sight. With no money and no credit, nothing will move forward.
Cash is king for now.

I use eTrade. My biggest complaint is all the emails they send. I suppose I should read them (they are good about making the subject line clear and concise though).

GM is interesting. Stock is dirt cheap. They may go bankrupt or they may turn it around eventually with the electric car.

I love these little homegrown "traders." They're reliable contributors to my quant arbitrage fund that just sits there and sucks up all their little pennies.

Do you all perform surgeries on yourselves too? It makes as much sense as investing yourself with zero financial experience.
- Remove your own Appendix for Dummies works just fine, thanks.ETM

I dealt with eTrade and it all went very good as far as I recall. I bailed out in 2005 or so. Haven't made any placements since or w/e.

I use proprietary trading software only available to hedge funds.
