This credit crunch isnt bad for everyone.
There ARE good situations to be in.If you got a lot of cash doing nothing, now could be a good time to invest in shares seeing as you can get them at cheap prices.
Personally, i'm looking for picking up a good flat for a bargain price.
A lot of people reckon that Edinburgh's prices wont fall - thats a load of crap as they already are - drastically in some cases.Something that brought a smile to my face this morning. A massive 4 bedroom flat in Polwarth area £245,000.
THAT kind of bargain is a sure sign of prices falling!:)

Like Buffett says, now is a good time to be greedy, for those who are in a position to do so...
- kelpie0
aye but nae bank is going to lend you any money to buy your cheapo bargain bucket posh flat. That's why they're calling it a credit crunch.
Great if you happen to haver the cash lying around, in cash form, in a bank which isn't about to tank right enough...

What Kelpie said.
Good luck in getting a mortage

Anyone who works for the NHS don't really need to worry

Get fucked I just renegotiated my mortgage :'( and my god damn payments went up by £100 bunch of dicks. We got credit for an extra £25,000 to do home improvements but fuck that I'll dae it masell I am refusing the loan, the more I borrow the less my fucking house is worth in the resale.
I am so fucking worried right now about this whole economy and I can't see anything good on the horizon for a couple of years!!!!. I am going to look at mortgage protection the now.- same here i've just come out of my fixed term contract after 2 years and the fuckers are putting it 120£ a month and no one else is takin on for the amount we require which is crap so just have to live on bread and water for a few monthsMoo

aye everyones always going to need the health services.
the price of rent has shot up because no one is buying.
nah im not looking to buy right at the moment, but im keeping a keen eye on the market as always. if a stupid bargain came up i'd probably jump at it though.
- chossy0
Kon honestly this is the time to buy in Edinburgh maybe in a year or six months would be better but get looking right now, get your mortgage sorted so you know what budget you have to look at then get out there, house prices have fallen by about £10,000 in some nice areas morningside for example. Anyway fuck you mr buyer :'( he he only joking on a lighter note we have a £39,000 roof replacement bill to be worrying about as well :D the joys of houses and shit and stuff and that!!!.

Lucky you guys. I'm actually with tight closed buttcheeks, hoping that everything doesn't go bad.

It might be a good thing for this country, seemed like people equated life by the money they threw at it, perhaps people will think a bit further than that now to understand what a good life means. Go on, stay in a watch a bit of telly.
- 23kon0
ouch, that is well shit chossy. £100 more a month, plus a roof replacement bill.
thats the kind of stuff that makes me happy NOT to have a place of my own.
a lot of our clients are property companies (renting and sales) so i keep my eyes peeled on new stuff that come onto their books.i did fancy a flat somewhere where one of our clients was about to build flats. but cos of the crunch those places might not be going ahead.
you should round up a load of mates to come round and help you's do the place up. Get a shitload of beer and paintbrushes in one weekend, kick the bird out and get your mates round ;)
- chossy0
That is the plan pal, get your pals to come over and help out get the beers and the pizza in awww yeah boyeeee.
- 23kon0
definitely the way to do it ;)
ive helped mates loads of times so i'l be recalling the favour someday.
ive got mates that are builders and civil/structural engineers so their skills will be well borrowed if i ever need them hehe

Dentists too dear?
Shop smart, outsource, become a dental tourist. Just like Americans go to South America for cheap high quality dental services by US-med-school-trained dentists, you have plenty of East European options - Slovakia, Czech Rep., Poland, Hungary, etc.
There are dental practices that are geared towards Western clients, with good English, providing accomodation when needed, etc.- I just realized how much I stayed on topic writing that (unwillingly, meant a detour)..rafalski

Dentists earn a fuckload of money...
One particular I know (he's legit before you ask) takes 50% of the money he generates from the dental work he needs to do.
Granted, if he has a month of just checkups, not great, but a few crowns, root canal filling and caps and he rakes in £1000's in a week. Bastard.
- why don't you become a dentist then? i imagine it's quite a tough job, staring into manky mouths all dayvespa
- chossy0
Dentists spent allot of time at university and they do a very very specialist job, they should get paid accordingly :F
- kelpie0
I reckon your opinions of dentists probably has a lot to do with the state of your teeth. Mine are cunted after a bike crash fucked them and the very shit (but very expensive) dentist I was sent to borked them further. It'd take literally thousands of pounds to fix them now (nae chance) so you'll forgive me if I think the cunts are a bunch of robbing bastards

They can charge whatever the fuck they want to... and if you can't afford it, FUCK YOU... all is fair in the freedom market.

- TO THE FUCKING BLACKSMITH!kelpie

- sorry :(. But i think its more important for rafalski to be aware that i don't like his views but i will defend to death his right to voice them.Khurram
- right to voice themKhurram
- Dogmatic love for freedom, my friend. Neo-liberalism has nothing to do with it.rafalski
- well neo-liberalism is the economic system you equate with "freedom", slight of language comrade!Khurram
- It never was. I can relate to Milton Friedman's ideas, who's often falsely linked to neo consrafalski
- never was what? neo con is neo liberalism + the war in Iraq. Nothing more.Khurram
- man, i haven't had one of these on here in ages.Khurram
