Anyone have any albums or songs that captured a time in your life perfectly, and/or that you've not listened to in quite a while, and when you do, everything that's attached to comes back into your mind as if it all just happened yesterday?

I've not listened to Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head in a long time, but just put it on. Made me remember a ton from when that album came out, August 26, 2002. I'd just gotten over a summer of waiting for a girlfriend to get back from studying abroad in Spain only to have her come back and break up with me, then onto chasing another girl I liked who was in college and too confused to figure out if she really wanted a boyfriend or not, and going to see Coldplay with her that September or October. I had only recently really felt like I'd gotten my feet on the ground living in Chicago, having a full time job ($28K a year was thrilling!).

    What's your story about one?

i've too many stories like this and they're all banal

example: Oasis reminds me of traveling with my parents to florida when i was 13.

Yeah I have a bunch of songs like that. Mostly from around 1995/96 when I started really listening to music, playing guitar, etc...

Happens with some older Oasis, Weezer, Green Day, etc... but it's those random throwbacks you don't hear too often that really do it.

For example - "In the Meantime" by Space Hog

I think it happens because I was so impressionable at that age.

When I was in college I was taking a class on video game history and creation (best class I ever took btw). Our professor commented on how powerful our auditory memory is. He mentioned how the sounds coming out of those old school atari and NES games can carry just as much importance as the graphics. For me it's true.
