Holy shit - those cheeky fuckers used all the browser space to show their work? Fucking hell! *grabs burning pitchfork of enragement and meets with the peasants of Madethoughternsberg, to march upon the ghoul 'Crushed' and burn him where we find him*

yea, they both used text inside boxes.

how dare they use photographs of work??
I mean not even the completely different menu style and hierarchy and the utterly opposite placement of all site elements along with the difference in technology used can detract from this blatant wrong against one of our most cherished and arselicked untouchables!

nice and simple site.
their background pictures arent horrible quality, its the javascript thats resizing them to make them shit.
this background image resizing malarky would have been better done in flash where it can offer some image smoothing.
these images look horrible when scaled up or down from the original.

Crush vs Red Design...
which is king of Brighton Design?

Not a 'rip' but it's obviously influenced and an attempt at an identical method of displaying work.
It's not the fact that they're displaying work in a similar "real life / photographed" type of way. It's that they do it by making 2 detached planes, of similar color and style.

I love their work but I prefer their old site, you got more of a feel for the identites themselves in the old one (where you could see colours etc). The res on the images is a bit fuzzy and the way the work is laid out is very similar to madethought's site but the work is great and I'd love to be working on some of those projects so what can you do eh?
