SFO you have to worry about earthquakes,
PHI you have to worry about getting shot.SFO is nice, clean, sunshine, and the like,
PHI it's awful, dirty, cloudy all the time.That being said, I couldn't see myself not living in the Eastern Time Zone.

Sf is great, though it can be kind of a tough place to live. ( i have no experience with philly) I think the city kicks you in the teeth for about 2 years before deciding you get to stay.

if you can find long term work in philly go there and buy. Sf is nicer but way more expensive.
