ps: i'm on page 25 of this thing:

and haven't found a simple example, starting to think this really is a vienna secession/wiener werkstaette thing...- the vienna secession search brings up loads more applicable images. :))_salisae_

This article covers history and links to relevant artists - not organized by "styles" though. Still, worth exploring:

i've only ever seen these in conjunction with advertising, art nouveau to art deco... looking for examples, but not coming up with much...

dry hump bump!
i need to determine a body copy font from this .. i think call out/decor fonts could be relatively simple to find but if anyone has any insight into this 'design style' i would be forever grateful!
- difficult. Engravings or "vignettes" like those were common throughout Europe until 1920's...Witt

I don't actually know anything I just find stuff on the interweb.
And now I'm going to walk my dog and read for a bit. Good luck in your search.
Maybe look for some early art deco works if you want something like this but more modern.

for instance, they've given hints to reference for other aspects and i am able to see what they're after but offer a much more modern/stylish choice .. with this i am out of my element. i don't know the history of this is .. are they ads? book illustrations?
it looks like the arts and crafts movement but with more of a societal commentary element.
