Does anyone else get affected by the musicality or tone of someone's voice?
People with certain qualities to their voice deeply annoy me, regardless of their personality.
Psycho or no?

yea i'm totally like that. works the other way tho as well, if people have the right tone it drives you nuts in a good way.

i definitely can attest to this... someone can say the most eloquent and intellectual thing, but if their voice is annoying then it completely overpowers anything they say.
- Haha, it works the other way too for me! Someone can have a great voice but be a total idiot and it ruins everything.Jaline

Soprano/mezzo-soprano. I pity anyone who isn't moved nearly to tears (if not all the way) by the likes of Maria Callas, Kathleen Battle, Sarah Brightman, or Angela Georghiu. Seriously – so beautiful it hurts.

it's called mellifluous. few can be described with this vocal quality.

Any people with a very nasal voice/tone. Like Glaswegian neds.

Well, if we're talking positively affected, you can't beat the musicality and style of Sigur Ros' singer. God I cannot wait to see them in two weeks, I have third row seats to the side. I am pretending that I forgot about the show because deep down I am expecting an epiphany much greater than the one I barely had at the only show of theirs I've been to before.

I recently started working on my own voice... I used to have this nasty southern drawl, which then shifted into kind of an all-the-time drunken slur, over to a kind of raspy but deep monotone, and sometimes I sound like a damn drill instructor, even when I'm not yelling (you know, the ones who yelled and screamed so much that their vocal chords had to be repaired and now made their voice about two or more octaves lower). But there's no way I'm going to bother finding a singer to pay and stuff on my tracks so it's getting better. I'm sure I still sound retarded though.
