stroke, paint or write on will do it, or trapcode 3d stroke if you want to use 3d camera...

The stroke effect is found in the Generate drop down!! he he everything changes so quickly these days it's a wonder how we can all keep up right guys?....

no it is the built in one, it is very easy and incredibly quick to use, slice your text into layers appropriate for the sequence of the effect and then simply draw a mask over each slice in your comp. then go to effects render stroke and chose reveal image from stroke options then animate the end position, this is not ideal for some text but for script fonts it is perfect. Stroke may be in a different menu now as I last used it in version 5.5

Or you could do it with the stroke function which is incredibly quick. just set the stroke to reveal the layer it is applied to and then animate the end point piece of piss likes :D good luck show us the results THEY BETTER BE GOOD OR ELSE!!!!

What is 'write-on'?

i'd do it with write-on. you still have to hand animate the "drawing on" tho.

I need to animate a type logo in after effects, so that the letters look like they are drawing themselves in. I was wondering if there is a quick way to do so or do you have to mask of the logo frame by frame to reveal?
