What does the mark represent?

i liked your initial option, the 1st one, i think you should stick to that.
I would make the letters only slightly thinner so that you keep that nice positive negative space going on. the single colour version would be my preference to the colours you have chosen above.
but these are merely straight up observations, that may be completely uninformed and wrong.
i think the initial mark is good though, i would differentiate between each letter, so its obviously three letters ( but not too obvious of course).
i also think that icon resembles 'a person with arms in air'
theres some gay post-rationalization for you. could be a direction to follow.best of luck!

nice 1st one is best

1st one is good, but looks like the white space needs to be increased as it may fill in when printed

The type is ok, but I don't think the logo works.

hmm regarding it representing a YPC... i think it's a bit far fetched. only trying hard to make it seem so can i see a possible y in there... the p also..

and i agree w/ digdre, to avoid this, the white space should be bigger..

I like the first one. I was trying to see a marque that was someone, open mouthed with hands outstretched, like they were singing in a choir, but it wasn't there...
I think you need to balance the marque and the words better.

ya, I think it's a bit of a reach to say it represents YPC.
- I did have small decenders on the Y and P but then it no longer looked like the stands.WhiteFace

make it represent choir stands OR ypc, not both. nice type, just need to refine the mark. i liked the first one too, in one colour. don't force it too much to represent the letters too.
- the mark looks a bit like that thing in the middle of a camera lens. maybe it could be a bit thinner?itstimefortea

What moamoa said. Excellent concept, just tighten the execution. I prefer your original use of Fedra Light over Avant Garde or whatever. More elegant/refined. Or, if you don't mind using the most common sans typeface in use at the moment, try Gotham for a friendly yet geometric look that will compliment the strict geometry of the mark. Avenir could work well too.
- You know your fonts, thanks for this.WhiteFace

normally choir stands would be a semi-circle (ish) with a flat base from the audience perspective. Have you tried the choir stands turned and doubling as sound waves?

A person with arms in the air = the conductor.

Good idea, but I think the mark needs some work.

If you are going to do away with the bolder lines, I feel like you should keep the tightness there still some how. Although there is a disconnect from the font and the size of the lines in your first 3, I feel like they were stronger than these newer versions with lighter lines and more whitespace.
I also think that even though it represents "YPC" that you shouldn't worry about the user reading into that as long as it is nice. Some people may see YPC, some people may see the rings of the choir, some people may see a nice symbol.

- i think that it looks MUCH better, have you tried dropping the p down so its a descender on the y too?Spanna
- no, no.akrokdesign
