We gave away apples at a trade show with codes on it where you could win iPods. 80% loved the apple because they got something healthy instead of all the other shit people give away.

I think that USB sticks are a great thing to give away, only if budget v's quantity is cool.
they are a great way to promote your company. i carry one with me everyday i got a few years ago at an awards thing, it had 'scottish tourist board' logo on it (they were a sponsor). folk need usb's and they'll use them too - much more longevity than a pissy novelty thing.

we just did a load for the launch of a new development in the middle of glasgow city centre. We got sent them a few weeks ago - they look awesome with the logo on them. think they'll go down well at the launch :)

at one of my old companies they gave away bottles of gray goose. you entered a raffle and they had drawings every hour or something like that. I was never at the trade shows to see it in action, but I think it worked pretty well.
