back at u ukit
Think this 30 minute video and 30 minute discussion hits on a lot of the material we were talking about. Of course i think milton friedman is right. Through experience and just reason. Especially when he talks about how if a higher minimum wage ='s prosperity, than why not make it $200 dollars an hour. I also like when he calls the guy out on his honest sincerity and points out its an overrated value. And that he would be a poor ceo if he didnt produce good results for his employees. After all union are in the business of selling labor and lobbying through government restrictions. The guy needs to get more support and more favoritism coming at the cost of non-union members in order to justify his wages. Simple business economics.
Now i wanted to give an example or a few that tries to prove the idea that minimum wage does more harm than good. But i gave up on that. An example without explaining the cause and effects, and trying to generalize it across the board just doesn't work. Started to think its like an equation. You can tell the person the steps of how to solve it but if they dont understand why and just follow the directions nothing is learned.
And the main reason for everything is positive incentives. What is the positive incentives for the people pushing for minimum wage and labor unions? Profits of course. Profits with a smokescreen of probably really sincere idea theyre helping people, and they push that before mentioning helping themselves. Individual incentives all the way from the top down to the bottom. A union member getting paid more for the same labor a non union member may make doesnt say hey whoa maybe shouldnt be paid this much. They try to recruit the less paid out of guilt and as driving power to get more. And tell themselves they sincerely believe theyre doing good.
Its a protectionism thing. I dont know who first suggested the idea to the US and lobbied for it. But im sure whoever it was had a fiscal incentive in doing so, and would like u to ignore the fiscal and focus on the intention of so called good. Its human nature to want to put up walls and barriers or regulations to protect their livelihood. That will not change. Everyman feels the need to think of some justification to protect their shit. I like to under cut people or work for free all the time. Since i dont care about the money as far as the experience. Im a scab. I weigh it and ill set my prices and see if me and the party can agree. If not no blame jsut go on our own ways. And im sure if i did it to u, u would want the protectionism stuff. If you did it to me id have to override my instincts and learn to accept that its what is right in a free society and i need to step up my game. And i think people like to butt into private contracts and welfares of others really out of their own personal interests. They think things should minimum wages and union labor should be protected since theyre not in a place to be affected by it. Its not for the greater good or any selfless reason its for an illusion of safety. Just acting on the instinct of an animal.
As far as greater good once again its hard to make a sweeping generalization. In my experience it didnt benefit me. Does my rights and pursuit of liberty not matter when compared to collective rights? Do u think you can judge me and tell me how to live without me breaking your nose? Id expect it from you if i tried to tell you how you could live and work. Has wages gone up? yes. Why? Tough to say, wether its capital from the printing press playing on a set level of wages. Or if its actual free market production playing on lowering cost for consumers, creating new wares, and everyone benefiting as they choose to do. I can give an example for it as easily as u can give an example against it and we would be at a stalemate. I can say things still moved forward and things got better without minimum wages. Perhaps minimum wages is simply a bubble effect that hasnt busted yet but is close with industry using other countries for labor. u just gotta look at the underlining principles and driving forces. Than look at cause and effect. And evaluate it on some sort of philosophical or principled scale. The whole greater good scale is wack. Or the this guy is being benefitted at the cost of this guy is too. Because how will human nature come in and your logic work when you are used to feed another person. You will have a differing view making your whole previous belief structure hypocritical and false. Its was something u liked to believe and think it fit while u benefited from it. But being tested by it and u lost u find its not the axiom u believed it was.
I wont change my views even if im harmed by them. can u say the same?
Or we can just boost minimum wage to 200 dollars an hour and increase the middleclass tenfold.

Liberals now support death penalty?
Here we have the U.S. media – who, I think, to a last empty skirt opposed the death penalty – yet they are feasting on his corpse.
No morals, no ethics, no character, no strength. Every day they espouse sympathy for the devil. Every day they espouse sympathy for murderers and rapists on death row, no death penalty – and here they celebrate the execution of Gadhafi by the puppets of the U.S. government.
While Gadhafi was a certifiably bad guy, he should have been given a trial.

Obama Job Approval Average Slides to New Low in 11th Quarter
Prior low was 45% in his seventh quarter
http://www.gallup.com/poll/15023…Only one elected president since Dwight D. Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter, had a lower 11th quarter average than Obama. Carter averaged 31% during his 11th quarter, which was marked by a poor economy and high energy prices. Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton were the only other post-World War II presidents whose job approval averages were below 50% in their 11th quarter in office.
