An Afghan appeals court overturned a death sentence Tuesday for a journalism student accused of blasphemy for asking questions in class about women's rights under Islam.- funny, cause i'm pretty sure Islam is practiced in other countries where this doesn't happen. Colorado has early voting - i don't remember ohio having it when i lived there, but they might. Colorado's early voting runs until next friday - after that you have to wait until the 4th.
I voted Obama - for several reasons but Sarah Palin as VP scares me mostly. Lines weren't horrible. There were only 3 people in front of me. It's still really early though, so I'm assuming they'll get worse.

digdre, it's called 'early voting'... all states have it i think. it helps beat the rush on november 4th. i checked the internets to find my early polling place and walked in with my state id on saturday morning. there were maybe 10-12 people ahead of me and they actually turned 3 away because they were not registered to vote. when i walked in i saw a line of at least 80 people and was like 'oh fuck this' but it turned out that was the line for people waiting to register. i got my card, walked into a room filled with 30 people at the electronic polling stations and in 5 minutes i was done. piece of cake. i had to check the printout twice though to make sure it was printing the guys name who i actually voted for.

I miss going to a school or library and waiting in line to go into a poll booth. Shutting the curtain and flipping switches to vote like I used to in Ohio.
Oregon has mail in ballots which I hated at first but now I realize the importance of not rushing the vote. You can sit down and read both sides and inform yourself about the issues and candidates.
With poll voting it just seemed like you where guessing on a multiple choice questions if you hadn't done your homework.I plan on filling out my ballot this week.
