Trump reportedly so unhappy with how things are going he is considering firing everyone expect for Jared and Ivanka
- LooOOooL! Only five months in and he's already taking the plane crash option.face_melter
- what is this, fan fiction? therrs nothing here to indicate he headline is remotely truemonospaced
- Well a lot of stories are based on anonymous sources but that doesn't mean it's wrong. Mike Allen is a pretty well connected, respected reporter in Washington.yuekit
- Gotcha. So what was convincing here? Even the reports don't indicate he's taking about replacing his entire staff!monospaced
- Sure he might be frustrated, I don't need an insider confidant to tell me that ... but there's not even a verified quote from trump that this headline is rightmonospaced
- Not literally the entire staff but Reince Priebus, Bannon and Spicer who are three of the biggest players.yuekit
- I don't think it's realistic to expect on the record comment directly from Trump on every story...as if he can be trusted anyway to report on himself :)yuekit
- I think it's realistic to expect journalists to gather quotes to back up pieces that would otherwise be considered nothing more than bullshit gossip otherwise.monospaced
- Lowering that standard is exactly what he problem is today. If there is nothing concrete to back up a story as idiotic as this, then don't write it! It IS fake.monospaced
- I hate trump as much as anyone but I still expect reports to be accurate if their sole purpose is to criticize him.monospaced
- This is nothing new though...journalism has relied on anonymous sources for a long time. The Watergate scandal would never have been reported on, a lot of theyuekit
- Bush era terrorism programs such as torture and NSA surveillance would have never come to light.yuekit
- Personally I think it's a misconception that there is all this "fake news" out there...it's something Trump is trying to push in order to discredit any negativeyuekit
- stories about him.yuekit
- fake news denier. lol********

- Sure, except HE is the fucking problem. Go ahead, replace everyone, the result will be exactly the same.CygnusZero4

Why are Republicans such a "team".
I get some politicians want to help society, the poor, inner city problems are worried about schools etc and then some other politicians are worried about farms and don't want to waste government funding on anything and think people can take care of themselves.
I get people have different perspectives but how did it get to such a "winning" mindset? Why are politicians so worried about labels and don't do their job?

- It's the same the world over. In the UK the Tories were incredibly split over Brexit, so much so it caused a change of Prime Minister. But when the time came...Wolfboy

- Trump's motivations: 46% believe it was to slow the Russia investigation, 38% believe it was due to mishandling of the Clinton investigation
- Trump's approval: 39%, with his favorable/unfavorable at -14%

Torch-wielding protesters gather at Lee Park
http://www.dailyprogress.com/new…
Either supremely stupid, or purposefully sabotaging (I'm going with the former). Richard Spencer and some alt-righters lit torches to defend a Confederate monument in Virginia. Many conservatives/right/independents defend his right of free speech, but this is just completely indefeasible.
The dumbest thing about some Republicans defending these monuments is that it's not their party's history to defend. It's just mind-bogglingly stupid when they already get accusations of racism and white-supremacy. Frankly I don't fault anyone for the accusations when they see images like these.

Interesting op-ed piece about what Trump represents as a politician... it's not policy, it's anti-liberalism. A small excerpt below.
"Rather than defend President Trump’s specific actions, his conservative champions change the subject to (1) the biased “fake news” media, (2) over-the-top liberals, (3) hypocrites on the left, (4) anyone else victimizing Mr. Trump or his supporters and (5) whataboutism, as in 'What about Obama?' 'What about Clinton?'"
If liberals hate him, he must be doing something right...
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/…

^ How the hell does that make any sense? Trump is a lifelong moderate liberal. For a very long time he was anti-gun, pro-abortion, soft on illegal immigration, said hillary clinton would be a great president, said bill clinton was the best president of the last 4.
He was a registered dem for a long time, he switch to the reform party, knew he wasnt going anywhere as an independent, then switch to repub in 2012 basically out of necessity. So to win anything as a repub, what did he need to do? He needed to appeal to their interests. Hes just a salesman. He doesnt what works for him. Hes no conservative. Hes not even a republican, so that article is ridiculous.
I swear this dude has pulled of the con job of the century. Look at all these people who have no idea who he is. He is a 5th avenue fancy pants celebrity loving new york city liberal. He just panders to conervs and repubs bc they are stupid and will buy anything he is selling.

here's a real shocker ....
President Trump revealed highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador in a White House meeting last week, according to current and former U.S. officials, who said that Trump’s disclosures jeopardized a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State.
