Control your Mac or PC from your iPhone from anywhere.
I'm having a little trouble with the from anywhere part so far, but what an amazing little app for $1. There's a $25 version, but I'm not sure what the difference is.

or you can use a free VNC client on any Java phone like I've been doing for the past 5 years

hey i was just joking...
but not. i use vnc2go on a symbian phone to connect to various macs and pcs. on a pc, you have to install the vnc server first, but on a mac it's built right in under the sharing tab of system prefs. i'm sure the iphone app is much better though, especially with more screen real estate. on my nokia it's like looking through a keyhole, ha.

haha nice. Yeah, I really don't understand the tech behind it, but it sounded pretty damn useful. The iPhone is the first phone I have had with any sort of actual functionality to it other than to call people and text. : D

I've spent most of the day trying to get this to work on an outside network (not my computer's wi-fi) and there's no getting it to work unless any of this trouble-shooting makes sense to you: http://docs.google.com/Present?d…
adding to my annoyance is with all the fiddling I did, I can't even connect with wi-fi now.

i tried it when i saw this topic this morning... worked a treat (turned off my wi-fi to test it), but then i'm using a mac ;)

Ok, I finally got it working. I wish I could explain what was wrong and finally what went right.

sometimes you've just got to admit technology isn't your thing
