God vs. New Orleans: the Sequel

Hopefully it will fizzle out or miss NO
- dog_opus0
Yeah, I hope it's minimal damage this time around. I guess the GOP is postponing their convention because of it.

My guess it that they will still have it but maybe cancel George W...or maybe he will video in from NO.

I was a victim of Katrina... parents actually wanted to move back but we ended up convincing them to stay put here in Texas. Fucking sucks that my dad just invested in his old properties back in NO a few months ago... and now this..

I bet it is a Russian hurricane. Fuckers.

never understood why people were so stubborn about not leaving tornado zones when they keep happening each year in the same place with the ocean levels creeping up higher each year...move to the mountains or something.

mayor speech
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/ameri…they say it could gain strength up to cat. 5 while moving over the gulf, stronger then any building has been built to withstand.
this seems, indeed, quite serious.
*fingers crossed

this is awful. buckle up

"they say it could gain strength up to cat. 5 while"
Now they are saying High 3, possibly Low 4, but its coming in quicker than expected which will prevent it getting as crazy as it could have done, apparently.
- well, let's hope for the best. cat. 4 is already far too strong for safety.. :(janne76

It's those damn terrorists again.

All I know is, tomorrow I have plans to go through my closet and collect old clothes to send down there via Red Cross or some other organization. They are going to need it again, if not New Orleans other parts of the country for sure and other island countries.

A senior McCain source said Saturday that officials were considering turning the convention into a massive telethon to raise money for the Red Cross and other agencies to help with hurricane aid.
"He wants to do something service oriented if and when the storm hits and it's as bad as it's expected to be now," the McCain source said.

Well done, McCain, you are already becoming a real Bush III.
