I hadn't noticed the staff thing (I try not to read descriptions before I look at something to crit - sometimes I take it too far). If it is so, then perhaps ex-rand was right in suggesting you remove the tail from the F, because I'm just not seeing it.
Personally, I'd edit out the suggestion of the staff, and go with the word mark - false idols'n'all that.
- I was just saying to make all the "logoness" reside in the f and let the rest be less expressive and more subordinatemagnificent_ruin
- oops, I had meant to add a qualifier in there .."if i understand ex-rand correctly"..
Clearly I didn't.anairn - I mean, who could?
You're like one hand clapping.anairn - Either the sound, or the image of a one-armed man flailing spastically - you take your pick.anairn
- Sometimes it's clearly better to just let nothing go unsaid.anairn

If you don't mind me saying, I kind of wish the rounded end/tip of the 'c' character flowed a bit more– at the moment it looks like a typical c with a circle aligned to the end.

the top two, the "L" doesnt read.

Yeah, I like one and two. I'd tighten the kerning between "c" and "k," though. Maybe between "o" and "c" as well. I'd also use a perfect circle rather than the ellipse. Nice work, gramme.

nr. 1
I would make the distance between f and l apiece bigger I mean in the height.. it look like fiock to me.
the baseline from f and k could be also in one line.
I love it.!

I tweaked the F/L ligature so the L reads better, and tucked in the c/k just a bit.
Anybody think #2 looks too much like the food network logo? I showed these to the client, and that's his favorite...but now I'm worried. It's obviously a different typeface, but there's a lowercase f and o in the logo...set in a circle...what do you guys think:

Worth dissuading the client?

nr 2 doesn´t look like food networl, just the circle :)moamoa

nice work. i'd simplify that little spur at the bottom of the stem on the "k". i think the negative space will close up at smaller sizes with any type of ink gain, making an ungly, heavy spot at the bottom of the "ck" juncture.
- especially if you reverse it out of the circle.johndiggity

aaaaah I see moamoa. I thought about doing that and thought the top of the L might look too scalloped; will give it a shot though.
good suggestion johndiggity about the spur on k—I'll give that a shot.
thanks again all :)

Very nice. I like #1. Thought the stress of the "o" and "c" is a little too square. It needs to be tilted to the left slightly.
